
The court arrested for ten days the Izhevsk blogger and businessman Konstantin Petrov, who previously stated that there were too many military monuments in Murmansk. Konstantin Petrov from Izhevsk is a blogger and owner of the company "Business Coffee with you." At the end of April, the Murmansk telegram channels began to publish a video in which he talks about his impressions after a city tour. On the records, Petrov asked when on excursions they stop showing places of battles and submarine monuments.
The video was criticized in social networks, users called Petrov "fake Russian" and "enemy". The discussion was joined by the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrei Chibis, who stated that the region "such guests are not needed."
After that, the Investigative Committee called Konstantin Petrov to give explanations.
Due to the resonance, Petrov published a new video on his VKontakte page to "explain the thought that he conveyed." He suggested that the fellow citizens "pay attention and scale the positive aspects of life." Petrov clarified that in no way disputes the feat of the country during the Second World War. This did not reassure the inhabitants of the Murmansk region, they stopped the car at which Petrov went to the airport and demanded that the driver land the passenger. He agreed.
Then the regional media published a video in which Petrov with his hands folded behind his hands brings an apology to the Murmansk residents, stating that "did not want to desecrate anyone's feelings." The video is recorded next to the police station.
Later, another video appeared , this time recorded against the background of the police cage for the detainees. In this video, Petrov repeatedly apologizes to the "veterans of the Great Patriotic War and current special military operations", "residents of the hero city of Murmansk", as well as "all the inhabitants of the Russian Federation", whose feelings could hurt his "careless statements" in which the detainee "deeply repented".
On May 2, the Investigative Committee said that a criminal case was opened against Petrov about the desecration of symbols of military glory. This happened after in the telegram channel Ekaterina Mizulina, to whose denunciations the law enforcement agencies often react, a message was posted with the question, "Why are such nonhumans still at large?"
Under the sane criminal article, Petrov threatens up to five years in prison.
