On May 3, the Astrakhan Regional Court sentenced a 26-year-old local resident to three years of forced labor in a criminal case on the rehabilitation of Nazism. This was reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee.
The department does not specify the name of the convicted person, but from the court file it follows that his name is Sergei Cherepanov; he was also sentenced on May 3.
According to investigators, in 2021, the defendant, while in Astrakhan, created a public group on the social network and published an entry in it with a comment “denying the facts established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal for the trial and punishment of the main war criminals of the European Axis countries” (para. “in » Part 2 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code).
In addition, according to the prosecution, in the community the young man posted “images containing signs of expressing a contemptuous and negative attitude towards the day of military glory of Russia and the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland” (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code).
What specific publications we are talking about is not specified. The case against the Astrakhan residentbecame known in November 2023. Since his arrest, the young man has been in a pre-trial detention center.
