In Veliky Novgorod, the process over Antonina Martynova ended. In June 2008, the jury found her guilty of attempting to kill Alice Fedorova, two -year -old daughter Martynova from her first marriage. Before the announcement of the sentence, Martynov fled with Alice - and for 16 years hid in the Stavropol Territory. In April 2024, she was again detained. I declare my innocence from the first day, and in my last word I do it again and again. 17 years ago there was an accident in which there were no guilty. There are only victims. The fact that my daughter fell from the stairs is not my fault, there is only the trouble and tragedy of our whole family. I want to say that when I ran down the stairs to her, and she lay there, without movement, silently, I managed to experience what no person on earth should experience, not a single parent: I managed to believe that she was no longer there, and for some short minutes to survive the death of my child. I will not be able to describe this horror and pain, emptiness, but any parent will agree with me - there is nothing worse and cannot be. And there was nothing worse with me either before or after.

Everything worked out, she is fine, everything is fine with her. But this horror did not go away, he stayed with me. When I heard the jury verdict 16 years ago, I seemed to survive all this again and realized that I would lose it for many years. I could not put up with this. I realized that her best, most precious, most tender years will pass without me. I will not be able to take care of her, I will not be there. I acted on emotions, I was very young. I was injured by what was happening, I panicked and acted on instincts. We fled. And I realize that the fact that I violated the recognizance not to leave was laid out the law. But I'm not a killer! I am just a mother who wanted to protect the child.

I raised her all these 16 years, all this time I took care of her. I loved her, did everything I needed for her. Moms should raise children, and I did everything I should. I provided her education: online courses, tutors, classes with a speech therapist ... Everything that is needed. Medicine, dentistry ... I drove it to the mountains, to the sea. Any mugs, sections, sports, art school - everything that the child should receive, she received.

I love her and she loves me. I need her, she is my child, and she needs me. We are a family. Please, I ask, do not separate us. There were enough tests for our share. I ask you to help us!

We just want to return home. Yes, now she is an adult, she is no longer a child, she formally she is adult, but ... I love her, and she is forever my baby, my beloved mother Kitik, my baby. Please, I ask, do not separate us!

“That's all,” she finishes speech and sits on a bench. The judge announces that the sentence will announce in five hours, and leaves the hall.

Alice Fedorova rushes to her mother, but the bailiffs stop her. Alice’s lawyer Maria Voropinova asks them to be her principal, as in the last meeting, they would not be allowed to talk with Martynova for long. “They should have asked [the judge’s permission]. Now everything is impossible, ”her bailiff cuts off. Voropinova hugs Alice: she calms down, closing from the cameras of journalists.

The prosecutor Nikolai Zhukov, meanwhile, patiently waits for him to put on a microphone-telch, and simultaneously explains to reporters why Martynova is unlikely to give a conditional term. According to the public prosecutor, there is almost no chance of this, since the defendant did not come with a confession and "in fact did not contribute to the disclosure of the crime."
