A rally is taking place in Yerevan against the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan; those gathered are demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The event is broadcast on the YouTube channel of the publication 168.am.
The rally takes place in the central square of the Republic. According to the Bagramyan 26 telegram channel, as of 18:20 (17:20 Moscow time), between 18 and 20 thousand people gathered for the protest.
The majority of those gathered at the opposition rally are supporters of the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement. In addition, the rally is attended by former Armenian Foreign Ministers Vardan Oskanyan, Ara Ayvazyan, ex-speaker of the Karabakh parliament Ashot Ghulyan, son of ex-President Robert Kocharyan Levon Kocharyan, as well as pro-Russian blogger Mika Badalyan.
At about 18:40 (17:40 Moscow time), the head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, said that Pashinyan has 1 hour to resign.
“He constantly visited our villages in Tavush, lied, misled, and subsequently terrorized and threatened the people. We came to demand an answer for all this,” Galstanyan said.

The Armenian opposition will launch impeachment proceedings against Pashinyan, said the head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. The Armenian prime minister never responded to his ultimatum.“We are starting the impeachment procedure in parliament, we will hold consultations about this with all three parliamentary factions,” Galstanyan said.
The Armenian authorities have not yet responded in any way to the action of opponents of the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan. Yerevan police pulled forces to government buildings.
On April 19, the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on border delimitation. In fact, four border villages of the Tavush region of Armenia came under the control of Azerbaijan. This caused discontent among local residents.
On May 4, protesters in Tavush, led by Galstanyan, united in a column and headed to Yerevan. Today they reached the capital of the republic and staged a protest.
