Salavat is located approximately 1,500 km in a straight line from the front line. Previously, in this direction, Ukrainian UAVs flew to Novokuybyshevsk and Elabuga, which are located 390 and 360 km to the west, respectively.
Thus, the total area of Russian territory that can be subject to UAV attacks has expanded to at least 1 million 550 thousand square kilometers. There are seven million-plus cities on it.
According to the Baza telegram channel, the drone hit a catalytic cracking unit used to process oil. A fire occurred at the facility, but the plant employees were not evacuated.
In recent months, refineries have become a prime target for attacks by the Ukrainian army inside Russia. Vladimir Zelensky called the attacks on factories a response to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector. “Layout” said that in the affected area there are 16 large oil refineries , which account for 52% of the total oil refining of the largest enterprises in the industry.
