Putin approved the structure of the new government. It does not contain the post of Deputy Prime Minister - head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which was held by Denis Manturov

Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the structure of the government. Its text was published on the Kremlin website.

The decree on the structure of federal executive bodies establishes that the head of government, as before, will have 10 deputies, including one first. Another deputy prime minister combines the position with the post of presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Far Eastern District, and one - with the head of the government apparatus.

However, in the new decree, unlike the previous one , there is no combined post of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade, which Denis Manturov held in the previous government.

After Putin’s inauguration, three RBC sources reported that in the new government Manturov would retain the post of Deputy Prime Minister, but would cease to head the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Instead, according to two interlocutors of RBC, the candidacy of the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, was considered for the post of head of the ministry. He himself stated on May 2 that he “has no plans to move anywhere.”

• On May 10, 2024, the State Duma reappointed the Prime Minister of Russia, confirming Mikhail Mishustin to this post, who has held it for the past four years. Now he must present candidates for the posts of deputy prime ministers and ministers. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that deputies will consider them on May 13 and 14, respectively.
• Denis Manturov held the post of head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for 12 years. On the morning of May 11, before the publication of the decree, Putin met with him and the head of Rostec Sergei Chemezov in the Kremlin. The president said that until the formation of a new government there should be “no disruptions” in the current work - in particular, in the complex that Manturov is involved in.
