Ukraine has gotten worse at shooting down Russian missiles

Ukrainian air defense forces have become worse than before at intercepting Russian missiles. The Wall Street Journal writes about this with reference to data from the command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Thus, over the past six months, Ukraine was able to intercept 46% of Russian missiles, while in the previous six months this figure was 73%.

At the same time, the rate of interception of drones by Ukrainian forces has remained almost unchanged, WSJ notes. In the last six months it averaged 82%, down 1%.

This is happening against the backdrop of increasing Russian attacks on Ukraine, the WSJ notes. Over the past six months, missile and drone attacks have increased by 45%.

A WSJ source in European intelligence noted that the next two months will be decisive for Ukrainian forces. After this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should receive protection systems and ammunition. Now, as the publication notes, in the Ukrainian army there is a shortage of ammunition for Patriot - the most effective defense systems against Russian attacks.

At the end of last week it became known about the offensive of the Russian army in the Kharkov direction. The day before, the Russian Ministry of Defensereported on the capture of the settlements of Gatishche, Krasnoye, Morokhovets and Oleynikovo in the Kharkov region.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, in turn, reported on the battles on the border with Russia in the Kharkov region and stated that attempts by the Russian army to break through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were stopped. “Heat battles continue in the Kupyansky, Seversky, Limansky, Pokrovsky directions, the situation is changing very dynamically. In some areas the enemy has partial success, in others the Defense Forces are displacing the enemy and improving their tactical position,” Syrsky noted.
