Ukrenergo announced that it has introduced emergency power outages in all regions of Ukraine

The state company Ukrenergo announced that it had introduced controlled emergency shutdowns in all regions of Ukraine on the evening of May 14 - from 21:00 to midnight.

In a statement, the company said that Ukrenergo was forced to impose restrictions due to “a significant shortage of electricity in the system as a result of Russian shelling and increased consumption due to cold weather.”

In addition, the company added that on May 15, power restrictions for industrial consumers will be in effect throughout the day.

• In recent months, Russian troops have carried out several massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector. CNN reported that Russia has changed the tactics of massive attacks on Ukraine: if earlier the attacks were scattered, they have now become more accurate and concentrated.
• Russian President Vladimir Putin said in April that Russia, for “humanitarian reasons,” did not attack energy facilities in the winter, but “was forced” to respond to Ukraine attacking oil refineries in Russia.
