The Parliament of Georgia during the plenary meeting finally approved the bill “On the Transparency of Foreign Infant”, which is called an analogue of the Russian Law on “foreign agents”. The broadcast of the meeting was conducted by Pirveli.

The plenary meeting lasted almost 4 hours, the deputies took turns expressing their opinion on the law adopted. During the event, parliamentarians arranged fights several times.

Protests

In parallel with a meeting of deputies, thousands of Georgian citizens arranged another protest action near the parliament building, the Novo-European correspondent reports. They blocked the Central Avenue Rustaveli. After the adoption of the law, Georgians began to drag barriers to the parliament building in order to block the exit for the deputies.

Hundreds of special forces are on duty at the Parliament building in the area of ​​Chichinadze Street, the Novo-European correspondent clarifies. Earlier, the security forces detained one participant in the protest campaign.

The security forces replace the protesters from Rustaveli Avenue: more than a thousand employees of the Georgian police, riot police and special forces came to suppress the protest, the Novo-Europe correspondent reports. Also, the vodtetes were driven to the parliament.

About 5 thousand protesters continue to be at the administrative building, some of them left Rustaveli Avenue to the adjacent streets.

The Georgian media report that during the protest, the Georgian activist Lazar Grigoriadis was detained, as well as the leader of the “anti -competitive movement” crushing Katsarava.

At the rally, a personal representative of the former Georgian Prime Minister Mikhail Saakashvili Sopho Japaridze was also seen at the rally. She unfolded the flags of Georgia and the EU against the backdrop of the security forces.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili previously called on deputies to postpone the date of entry into force until November 1. Prior to that, she promised to impose a veto on the law on “foreign agents” if it was adopted.
