Putin arrived on a visit to China

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived on a state visit to China, Interfax reports.

This is Putin's first foreign visit since his re-election as Russian president. During the visit, which will take place on May 16-17, Putin will visit two cities - Beijing and Harbin.

In Beijing on May 16, Putin will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in a narrow and wide format, as well as tete-a-tete over tea and in the 1+4 format, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said at a briefing in Moscow. “The most important thing in China is to drink tea one on one, especially,” Ushakov noted.

The President in China is accompanied by an impressive delegation, which includes many officials of the renewed Russian government and businessmen.

• At the beginning of his first three presidential terms, Putin traveled to neighboring countries - in 2000 to Belarus, in 2004 to Ukraine and in 2012 again to Belarus. The first state visit at the beginning of Putin's fourth presidential term in 2018 was a trip to Austria.
