The Rtishchevsky District Court of the Saratov Region received a case against local resident Ilya Usoyan, who is accused of persuading a friend who was at the front to surrender. This was reported by Mediazona with confirmation from Usoyan’s lawyer Alexey Balalaikin.
In 2023, Usoyan tried to persuade his friend to surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The case against the man was initially opened under the article of incitement to surrender (Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code using Part 4 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code), but later the charge was reclassified as preparation for organizing voluntary surrender (Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code using Part 33 of the Criminal Code). 1 Article 30 and Part 3 Article 33 of the Criminal Code). At the same time, Article 33 of the Criminal Code is missing from the case card ; Mediazona notes that the court assured that the card contains all the articles under which Usoyan is accused. “In this case, it turns out that Usoyan himself was preparing to surrender, but there is no information about his participation in hostilities,” the publication writes.
According to Balalaikin, a friend of the accused was also tried after returning to Russia (the lawyer does not specify the article under which he was prosecuted), but was acquitted. Usoyan, according to the lawyer, admitted guilt.
Before being taken into custody, the man raised livestock.
