Schoolchildren from Sevastopol will be able to refuse to take the Unified State Exam and the Basic State Exam. The governor of the annexed region, Mikhail Razvozhaev, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
"You can all see how unsettled the situation is in the city now: we were attacked four times last week, and an air raid siren sounded this morning. It is quite obvious that this is a great deal of stress for both children and their parents," Razvozzhayev said.
He said that he had approached the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov with a proposal to make the Unified State Exam and the Basic State Exam voluntary in the region. Kravtsov supported him.
Thus, schoolchildren will be able to receive certificates for grades 9 and 11 based on the results of exams or midterm assessments in schools. They will be able to enter universities based on the results of the Unified State Exam or internal university exams.
Those students and their parents who decide to refuse to take the OGE or USE must contact the schools with a written statement. If the students decide to take the exams, then the USE and OGE will be conducted for them "with all precautions."
Previously, schoolchildren from the border regions of Belgorod , Kursk and Bryansk regions were allowed not to take state exams.
The main wave of the Unified State Exam will take place this year from May 23 to June 21, and the Basic State Exam from May 21 to July 2.
This year, for the first time, graduates will be able to retake the Unified State Exam in one of the subjects before the end of the admission campaigns at universities. Vladimir Putin made a similar proposal during his address to the Federal Assembly. "(We need to) give graduates, as they say, a second chance, namely: at the student's own choice, give him the opportunity to retake the Unified State Exam in one of the subjects. Do this before the end of the admission campaign at universities, so that they have time to submit documents taking into account the retakes," he said.
