To what extent is our aspiration in the post -capitalist world is controlled and neutralized by capitalism?

This is a collection of the final series of lectures of the British philosopher, the theorist of culture, publisher and activist Mark Fisher (1968–2017), read by him at the Goldsmite College of the University of London in 2016. Starting from the most fundamental of the questions “Do we really want what we are talking about?”, Fisher explores the relationship between desire and capitalism and tries to understand what new forms we could still extract from the past, present and future. From the emergence and failure of counterculture in the 1970s to the further development of its left accelerationist direction of thinking, this book is a tragically interrupted course of reflection on the education of a new type of consciousness and its cultural consequences.

At the beginning of the Academic year 2016/17 at the faculty of visual cultures (Visual Cultures), significant changes occurred. They touched each and each of the teachers, but especially the brand of Fisher and the Codvo Eshun. A year earlier, Fisher and Ashun launched a master's program in the direction of auditory and visual cultures , as a question: how are the relations of sound and images in the era of all -pervasive media? Administrative changes that followed one after another drawn this course, like several other relatively small courses, inside the theory of contemporary art that has already existed.

Fisher and Ashun did not get upset, preferring to regard what was happening as a chance to try something new, and, having abandoned the focus on auditory and visual cultures, decided to develop one by one, which would reflect their own research interests. Ashun prepared a seminar in geopoetics : fifteen weeks of very “close reading” of cyclone -epedia , the work of the Nepharestani cut in 2008, known for his inequence, and Fisher began a post -capitalist desire , a seminar at which he turned to vicious, confusing connections between desire and capitalism, trying to feel limits in which desire at the same time helps us and restrains us and holds back to us and holds back to us and holds back us In an effort to escape from capitalism.
