Kadyrov announced the dismissal of the head of the Chechen government in connection with a "transition to another job"

The Chairman of the Chechen Government, Muslim Khuchiev, has resigned in connection with a transfer to another job, the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced .

According to Kadyrov, Khuchiev's "extraordinary business and personal qualities" and "rich experience" will be in demand at his new job, which he did not name. He added that thanks to Khuchiev, Chechnya "rightfully occupies a leading position in various federal ratings" and "demonstrates stable indicators of socio-economic development."

According to Kadyrov, Isa Tumkhadzhiev will act as the Chairman of the Chechen Government. For the past six years, he was Khuchiev's first deputy, and from 2016 to 2018, he headed the Chechen Accounts Chamber.

• Muslim Khuchiev, 53, has served as the chairman of the Chechen government since June 2018, and before that was the mayor of Grozny. Before that, he served for four months as the republic's minister of territorial development, national policy and mass communications, and from 2004 to 2005, he was the head of the press service of the president of Chechnya. In August 2023, the United States imposed sanctions on Khuchiev for his involvement in the forced removal of Ukrainian children to Russia.
• On May 15, one of Kadyrov's closest allies, Magomed Daudov, known as "Lord," left the post of Chairman of the Chechen Parliament.
