The Central District Military Court sentenced a resident of Perm to 12 years in a maximum security penal colony on charges of treason, preparation for a terrorist attack, and public justification of terrorism, the Properm publication reports .
The verdict was handed down back in March 2024. The name of the convicted person has not been disclosed. His lawyers are currently trying to challenge the court's decision.
The FSB Directorate for Perm Krai stated that in September-October 2022, the convicted man “cooperated with representatives of the Ukrainian armed forces, which consisted of preparing sabotage and terrorist acts at industrial facilities and law enforcement agencies in the city of Perm.”
An informed source of Properm said that the convicted man is originally from Belgorod, previously worked in departments of the Perm Krai government, and before his arrest in 2023, was an active employee of one of the departments of the Perm mayor's office.
Mediazona studied the Rosfinmonitoring register, which includes defendants in cases under terrorist and extremist articles - only one person fits the description of the FSB and Properm journalists. This is 42-year-old Anton Galeta. In 2011, he held the position of head of the analysis department of the macroeconomics department of the Perm Krai governor's administration, and then worked in the department of the regional Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities.
In September 2023, the Belgorod Telegram channel "Ash" reported that Galeta had been added to the Rosfinmonitoring register and published his photo.
