Hundreds of departed oppositionists will deprive the property in Belarus

The Investigative Committee of Belarus opened criminal cases against all 257 citizens of the republic who participate in the elections to the Coordinating Council - the opposition parliament in exile, established by the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. The department announced their property.

"According to the established algorithm, information about real estate and property belonging to the defendants has already been received in our country. Investigative actions are currently being carried out, including inspections, searches, and the imposition of arrest" -quotes the Representatives of the IC of the Republic of Belarus of the Telegram channel "Real Belarus".

According to Rusnews, candidates for the Coordination Council in the Investigative Committee were called representatives of "12 extremist organizations" who are fighting "for positions in the criminal hierarchy." In addition to "extremist" articles, they were charged with a "conspiracy to seize state power."

• After the presidential elections in Belarus in August 2020 and the protests followed by them, the Belarusian authorities staged mass repressions against opposition politicians, activists, human rights activists, protests and independent media. Detention for participating in the protests of 2020 continues to this day.
• In May 2024, it became known that over the past three months, more than 400 citizens of Belarus have added to the search base for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Among them are volunteers fighting on the side of Ukraine, as well as politicians and former political prisoners.
