
The speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Mike Johnson said that Ukraine needs to use American weapons to strikes the territory of Russia.
“I think we must allow Ukraine to wage a war as they consider it necessary. They should be able to repulse. And I believe that an attempt to control the efforts at the micro level is not a very good policy for us,” Mike Johnson said in a commentary to the Ukrainian Voice Service of America.
The position of the speaker of the House of Representatives representing the Republican Party differs from the position of US President Joe Biden, consisting of democrats.
Earlier, a group of American congressmen turned to the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin with a demand to allow Ukraine to use the US weapons provided to the USA for targets within Russia.
According to American legislators, against the backdrop of a deterioration in the armed forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) in the Kharkov region, the Biden administration limited the Ukrainian side to “repulse the Russian troops” with the help of American weapons.
The congressmen also called for the training of additional Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.

The leader of the democratic minority in the House of Representatives of the US Congress Hakim Jeffris previously stated that the United States must continue to support Ukraine, including because in case of defeat it will have to directly intervene in the conflict.
