Ukraine has identified more than 350 military military and collaborators involved in war crimes

Ukrainian law enforcement officers identified 357 Russian military personnel and representatives of the occupation authorities suspected of committing war crimes. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andrei Kostin.

According to the prosecutor general, they are suspected of committing intentional murders, torture and cruelty to civilian and prisoners of war. 83 of them were convicted.

"But the real number of such crimes, including those committed in temporarily occupied territories and in places of non -freedom located in Russia, are much larger," Kostin said.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine added that he discussed war crimes committed in Ukraine with a special speaker of the UN on extrajudicial executions, executions without proper trial or arbitrary execution by Morris Tidbol-Brinz.

“We are open to strengthening our cooperation to ensure an effective investigation of these and other war crimes and hold guilty to justice,” Kostin summed up.

In March 2024, the Chernihiv District Court of Ukraine in absentia sentenced 15 Russian military, which illegally held 368 civilians in the school basement of the village of Yagodnoy in March 2022 and used people as a live shield.

The case was considered in court during the year. The Russian military was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
