Participants "Bi-2" gave citizenship of Moldova

Moldova President Maya Sandu provided the country's citizenship to some members of the Bi-2 group and their families.

The decree published on May 27 on the presidential website lists the names of eight Russians. Among them are the bass player “Bi-2” Maxim “Lakmus” Andryushchenko, as well as representatives of the management of the group Alexei Levchenko and Alexander Ovrasenko.

“Our country is open and hospitable for people who choose the world, promoting friendship and respect between peoples. The members of the Bi-2 group began to repress in Russia after they opposed the war in Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova protects human dignity, freedom of speech and solidarity with those who are in danger, ” wrote Adrian Beluccel in the telegram channel.

The fact that the participants of Bi-2 turned to the Moldovan authorities with a request to provide them and members of their families with the country's citizenship, became known at the end of April.

• After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops to Ukraine, members of the Bi-2 group opposed the war. In May 2023, the Ministry of Justice included one of the leaders of the group of Yegor Bortnik in the register of "foreign agents".
• At the end of January 2024, the seven participants in Bi-2, including the session musician Gleb Kolyadin, were detained after a concert in Thailand due to the fact that they performed without official work permission. The organizers of the concerts subsequently admitted that they incorrectly issued visas for musicians. The group members were fined, after which they spent almost a week in centers for migrants in anticipation of a decision on deportation. Then they were threatened by expulsion to Russia, but in the end the musicians flew out of Thailand to Israel. According to unofficial data, the General of the Consul of the Russian Federation in Phuket Vladimir Sosnov personally demanded to deport the group to Russia. The Russian Embassy in Thailand denied this.
