"Important Stories": Ramzan Kadyrov's Telegram channel administrator removed criticism of his associate Magomed Daudov from Wikipedia

Last Saturday, May 25, Alterbulat staged an "edit war" in the biography of a Chechen official with another Wikipedia editor, Pyotr Voskresensky , writes "Important Stories". The day before, Ramzan Kadyrov proposed appointing Magomed Daudov to the post of Chairman of the Chechen Government.

As a result, according to journalists, Wikipedia has preserved and “protected” Voskresensky’s version from edits – with accusations of human rights violations against the associate of the head of Chechnya. As Wikiganda specifies, only the administrators of the encyclopedia can now make any changes to Daudov’s biography.

"Important Stories" found out that the nickname Alterbulat is hidden by 34-year-old graduate of the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ali Terbulatov . He edits only articles about Chechnya. In 2020, the man became Daudov's main biographer on Wikipedia.

According to journalists, Terbulatov worked in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice of Chechnya. According to Vazhnye Istorii, one of his numbers is used to register an account for the chat of Ramzan Kadyrov's official channel in Telegram .

Magomed Daudov is a close associate of Ramzan Kadyrov. According to human rights activists, he "played a key role" in organizing the "cleansing" of gays in Chechnya. He was repeatedly seen in "secret prisons" in Argun and Grozny, Novaya Gazeta reported . Former prisoners said that Daudov personally observed torture there.

In 2017, Daudov threatened to "pull out the teeth and shorten the tongue" of the editor-in-chief of the "Caucasian Knot" Grigory Shvedov. A year earlier, the editor-in-chief of "Echo of Moscow" Alexey Venediktov reported on the threats of the speaker of the Chechen parliament. Then Daudov published a post on Instagram with a large dog and the words: "Some "little dogs" barked so much that "Echo" can be heard from Moscow itself! We have "serious" males, because of whom the fangs of the peace-loving Tarzan itch a lot."
