Roskomnadzor blocked the North Caspian Institute website on May 27. This was reported by the Idel.Realii publication.
The decision to block was made by the Prosecutor General's Office. According to the agency, the site contains "information materials aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation in the Russian Federation."
The project is dedicated to the study of ethnolinguistic and political aspects of life in the regions of the Northern Caspian and Lower Volga.
The site is currently unavailable outside of Russia.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Roskomnadzor has been massively blocking various materials and resources on the Internet. Thus, for reasons of military censorship, Roskomnadzor has blocked more than 200 thousand resources - this was reported on June 9, 2023 by the deputy head of the agency Vadim Subbotin.
