Altai residents began cutting up Sberbank cards after Gref's conflict with taxi drivers

Regional activist Aruna Arna published a video on her Telegram channel showing Altai residents cutting up Sberbank cards in response to the conflict between Sberbank CEO German Gref and taxi drivers.

According to the activist, residents of Altai have started a spontaneous action. They are also coming to Sberbank branches to close their accounts. Arna claims that people are "outraged by the behavior of the banker," who the day before got into a conflict with taxi drivers at the Gorno-Altaisk airport.

"I think it's high time to remind German Oskarovich at whose expense he lives in luxury and builds his business," Arna added in her post. She called on local residents who decided to join the boycott of Sberbank to send her videos of cut cards.

The conflict between Sberbank CEO German Gref and taxi drivers at the Gorno-Altaisk airport allegedly occurred on June 8. The Telegram channel "Siberian Express" published a video in which a man resembling German Gref demands that taxi drivers not park near the airport. He also did not like the appearance of some drivers.

As noted by the Agency, the video was most likely filmed on Saturday, June 8. The publication's journalists made this conclusion based on data on the location of the Embraer Legacy 650 jet, which, according to the Agency, the head of Sberbank flies on. This plane took off from St. Petersburg several hours after the end of the plenary session at the SPIEF with the participation of Vladimir Putin. On June 8, the plane landed in Gorno-Altaisk.

The Agency added that the situation with taxi drivers does not suit not only Gref, but also local residents. They complain that it is almost impossible to get close to the terminal, and taxi drivers are too pushy, offering their services at inflated prices.
