A Moscow student was arrested for seven days because of a trident pendant that security forces noticed on her near the Borisovskoye Cemetery

The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced first-year student of the Institute of Business Career Victoria Mumrina to seven days of arrest because of a pendant with a trident, according to a ruling published in the court database. Mediazona drew attention to it.

An 18-year-old resident of the Moscow region was found guilty under the protocol on the demonstration of extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Mumrina was detained on June 4 when she and her mother were leaving the Borisovskoye Cemetery (on the birthday of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, all Moscow residents brought flowers to his grave - MZ).

The police officers who stopped the student told the girl that she was wearing a chain around her neck with the symbol of the Ukrainian organization “Trident named after Stepan Bandera,” which has been banned in Russia since 2014.

In court, Mumrina admitted her guilt. According to her, she did not know that the pendant depicted extremist symbols. The court ordered the chain to be destroyed.

Police officer, can I come in?" the student called over to one of the security officers. After that, the people in uniform took her and the woman standing next to them to a police car.
