The Supreme Court of Bashkortostan has approved correctional labor for Sterlitamak resident Yevgeny Shepelev in the case of military "fakes" (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by his lawyer from OVD-Info, Aidar Khyzyrov; the case file is on the court's website.
In March, Shepelev was sentenced to five months of correctional labor with 5% of his salary withheld in favor of the state.
The reason for the man's prosecution was a post about the crimes of the Russian army in Izyum. According to investigators, the man published it in September 2022 on his VKontakte page.
The case was announced in November 2023 and was submitted to the court in February of this year.
