The Russian intelligence agent mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) to spy on the forces of defense on the Eastern Front. The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison. This is stated in the statement of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
According to the investigation, an agent of the Russian Federation was a resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the 2000s, he graduated from Moscow State University, where he received a lawyer diploma.
During his studies, he came into the view of Russian military intelligence. After graduating from a Moscow university, he returned to Ukraine, where he was in the "waiting regimen" of tasks for a long time.
In 2023, his Russian curator came to the defendant. After that, the agent mobilized in one of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, as part of which he was sent to the Bakhmut area.
While in the frontline, the agent gathered intelligence on the places of basing and moving the Ukrainian troops. He supported communication with the invaders through a specially created chatbot, which was administered by representatives of Russian intelligence.
He later left his unit and tried to hide abroad. However, the SBU employees in stages documented his crimes and detained on the border of the Vinnitsa region.
Given the cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced a man a punishment in the form of 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
