The G7 countries during the summit came to an agreement on the use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation in favor of Ukraine. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Italy Georgia Melony, writes European truth.
At a press conference on the evening of June 13, following a meeting of the G7 leaders in the Italian Apulia, Meloni confirmed that the “large seven” reached a political agreement on the provision of additional financial support to Ukraine in the amount of about $ 50 billion through a credit mechanism, for the repayment of which superprofits from Russian assets, immobilized in our jurisdictions. ”
Such support will be provided not by the confiscation of Russian assets themselves, but by using profit from these assets, which eventually accumulates, Meloni explained.
“Today's step is a fundamental political step that will now have to be quickly worked out from a technical point of view, clearly taking into account the normative framework already adopted at the European Union level, but this is an unexpected result that I am especially proud of,” added Italy Prime Minister.
We are talking about a proposal of the United States, which provides that the G7 will provide Ukraine with a loan of $ 50 billion, which will be paid at the expense of income received from frozen assets of Russia.
