Belarus supplied weapons to Azerbaijan during tension with Armenia in Nagorno -Karabakh - Politico

Belarus supplied Azerbaijan with advanced weapons before the last war Baku with Yerevan. This was written by the Politico publication with reference to the documents.

According to the publication, Minsk provided assistance to the Azerbaijani army from 2018 to 2022. Services included the modernization of old artillery equipment and the supply of new equipment used for electronic warfare (REB) and unmanned systems.

Among the documents studied by Politico was the correspondence between the Belarusian State Agency for Weapons Export and Defense Plants of the Republic. It mentioned orders for modern artillery equipment for Azerbaijan and a correspondence between Minsk and Baku on the coordination of the purchase of Groza-Snti-District Complexes for the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

According to the publication, Armenia regarded the help of Belarus to Azerbaijan as a "bitter betrayal."

On May 13, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that Belarus would never visit, while Alexander Lukashenko is in power. He made such a statement during a speech in parliament on Armenia’s participation in the organization of the collective security agreement (CSTO).

"One of the leaders of the CSTO countries states that he participated in the preparation of the war, encouraged, believed and wished the victories of Azerbaijan. And after that I will go with the head of Belarus in the format of the CSTO?" - said Pashinyan.

At the same time, in the framework of the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), in a sense, he will be forced to cooperate.

“But I state that from now on I will never go to Belarus again, while Alexander Lukashenko is the president. And from that moment not a single official representative of Armenia will go to Belarus. In general,” Pashinyan said.

Earlier, Pashinyan has repeatedly said that the CSTO did not fulfill its obligations to Yerevan. According to him, the government of the republic is ready to legally freeze the country's participation in the CSTO if the position of the Bloc regard the territorial integrity of the country does not change. In addition, he announced the possible exit of Armenia from the CSTO.

The press secretary of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ani Badalyan, said that Armenia will suspend the financing of the CSTO.
