Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev Becomes Secretary General of United Russia

The Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev was appointed acting Secretary of the General Council of United Russia. The corresponding order was signed by the head of United Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

The party clarified that Yakushev will fully assume office after the congress and renewal of the governing body of United Russia.

Vladimir Yakushev has held the position of Presidential Representative in the Urals Federal District since 2020. Before that, he was the head of the Tyumen Region for 13 years.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin proposed to the Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak to become the head of the Altai Republic. He accepted the proposal.

According to The Insider's sources in the leadership of Russian regions and state companies, Turchak's appointment to the post in Altai is a reference and punishment for the "failure" of the participants in the war in Ukraine in the United Russia primaries.

From 2009 to 2017, Turchak was the governor of the Pskov region. In 2017, he became the secretary of the general council of United Russia.
