Telegram Launches Dating App

Telegram has launched a dating service called TON Dating, which is developed for the first time on the TON blockchain. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Durova’s Code” with reference to the application’s press service.

As the channel writes, the application should guarantee security when communicating with users. "When registering in the mini-application, each potential member of the TON Dating community undergoes mandatory multi-stage identity verification. This eliminates anonymous users and bots from getting into the network," claims "Durova's Code."

It is noted that complex verification, created by analogy with security systems in online banking, will ensure that only real users get into the application. "Durova's Code" writes that during two test months, only 3% of the total number of those who submitted applications were able to enter the application.

"TON Dating is aimed at those who value their time and are selective in communication, ready to be themselves and prefer to spend time "without masks" in the company of their own kind. Exclusive access creates a closed community, significantly increasing the quality and quantity of acquaintances with interesting people," said the founder of the application Vladimir Makhov.

The service will be free for women, while men will have to pay about 5,700 rubles per month. TON Dating will accept payments in the virtual currency Telegram Stars, which appeared in Telegram on June 6 this year.

Users will also be able to monetize the service. For inviting friends, likes and matches, users will receive bonuses in the Toncoin cryptocurrency.

The creators of the service assume that by 2027 the number of TON Dating users will exceed one million people. The application is aimed at an audience in the CIS countries, the Middle East and South Africa, Europe and Asia.
