Belarus Wants to Buy American-Made Drones

The Belarusian Defense Ministry plans to purchase drones produced by the American company Autel, the monitoring project "Belarusian Gayun" reports .

By the end of 2024, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense is going to conclude a deal to purchase a total of nine drone kits. Among them are the Autel EVO MAX 4T and Autel EVO MAX 4N Standard Bundle multicopter devices. Their price exceeds 12 and 17 thousand dollars, respectively.

Their flight altitude reaches seven thousand meters. Such drones are equipped with a built-in thermal imager, protection against interference and high protection from external influences.

The agency also plans to purchase a set of Autel Dragonfish Standard aircraft-type drones. Its cost is about 130 thousand dollars.

"Most likely, the planned purchase of UAVs by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus is a "test batch" supplied for the initial stage of operation. This is also indicated by the small amount of equipment being purchased," notes "Belarusian Gayun".

The project analysts also noted that Belarusian security forces have already used drones from Autel in the internal troops. "It can be stated that every year the number of drones purchased for the needs of the army increases, and their nomenclature expands," the project publication says.

In April of this year, it became known that drones were being confiscated from Belarusian citizens and transferred to the needs of the army. In addition, on March 28, a ban on the storage and circulation of drones adopted in the fall of 2023 came into force in Belarus. From this moment on, only legal entities can use drones if they have previously registered their devices with the Department of Aviation.
