Vladimir Zelensky announced the decision to dismiss the commander of the United Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol. The President of Ukraine said this in his appeal.
Sodol will replace the brigade General Andrei Gnatov as commander of Sodol. Zelensky did not report the reasons for the dismissal of Sodol. What position will take the dismissed general is unknown.
- Yuri Sodol since 2014 fought in the east of Ukraine. He was appointed to the post of commander of the United Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2024, and before that since 2018 he was the commander of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces.
- On June 24, the chief of staff of the Azov brigade Bogdan Krothevich said that he wrote a statement to the State Bureau of Investigations with an appeal to verify the activities of a military general, who, according to him, "killed more Ukrainian military than any Russian general." The surname in the message of Krotevich was not called, but “Ukrainian Truth”, citing sources, said that we are talking about sodola.
