At the Kostroma hospital, a 21-year-old local resident died hospitalized with botulism after he visited Nizhny Novgorod, TASS reports citing the press service of the region’s administration.

“Unfortunately, it was not possible to save the young man. The reason for this was also the fact that even at the first signs of ailment, he did not immediately seek medical help. I felt bad while still in Nizhny Novgorod, but called an ambulance only upon returning to Kostroma, ”the press service said.

According to RIA Novosti, in Nizhny Novgorod a man ate a ready -made lobio.

• In mid -June, residents of Moscow began to complain about the symptoms of botulism. The Rospotrebnadzor reported that the victims ordered Lobio in the delivery service “Kitchen in the area”. After this, cases of botulism were also registered in Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
• Several hundred people got into hospitals with botulism. On June 24, Rospotrebnadzor said that 149 people were discharged from the hospitals. According to the assistant Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov, 218 people remain in stationary treatment, 38 of them are connected to the apparatus of artificial ventilation of the lungs.
• The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the provision of services that do not meet security requirements (part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code). Four people were detained in the case: Anton Lozin, head of the quality department of the company Elena Mashkov, commercial director of the Savon-K, commercial director of Vladimir Shin, and Tajik citizen Karim Normatov, were detained. The court sent the cook for two months in a pre -trial detention center, the rest of the defendants in the case are under house arrest.
