Taxi driver kicks girl out of car because of her cane

A taxi driver in Nizhny Novgorod, Alexander Z., demanded that a girl get out of the car because she got into the car with a cane. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Beware, News" with reference to the passenger herself.

As the Telegram channel writes, the girl's name is Daria, she works as a lawyer and called a car to get to the Arbitration Court of the Volga-Vyatka District. Due to the injury, she is on sick leave.

"I injured my knee and have to use a crutch: torn cruciate ligament, partial tear of the posterior ligaments, meniscus displacement, bursitis. Now I'm waiting for surgery. I called a Yandex taxi, the fare was "comfort". The driver refused to take me because of the crutch, calling me disabled. He said that I needed separate transportation," the girl told the Telegram channel.

"Beware, News" published a video recording made by the girl in the car. The Telegram channel notes that the driver first began to fulfill the order, but then stopped and demanded that Daria get out of the car and call another taxi.

The driver said he "didn't want" to take Darya because of her cane. The man claimed that the cane allegedly didn't fit in the car, although the video showed the cane lying next to the girl and not bothering the driver. In addition, the driver accused Darya of not asking permission to get into the car with her cane and not putting her bag in the trunk. As a result, the girl got out of the taxi.

The Telegram channel notes that Daria contacted Yandex technical support, where they promised to conduct an investigation, monitor the driver’s work, and not transfer orders to him “if he does not comply with the service rules.”

"The support service is already in touch with the park where the driver is registered. The money for the trip has already been returned to the girl, now we are trying to contact her to sort out the situation in detail," Yandex commented on the incident.

The service also recommended that people who need help getting into the car use a special section. In this case, the company said, the driver will receive a notification in advance that the passenger needs additional assistance.
