Timati to open restaurants in occupied territories

The Black Star Burger restaurant chain, which belongs to musician and businessman Timati (Timur Yunusov), plans to open establishments in Donbass, Kherson Oblast and Mariupol. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to the company's press service.

In addition to the occupied Ukrainian territories, the burger joint wants to open restaurants in Turkmenistan. The opening there is scheduled for the fall of this year. In the annexed regions - for the first half of 2025.

"The company plans to develop more actively in airports, train stations, underground passages, parks, sports arenas, shopping centers. The plans also include opening restaurants of the chain in Turkmenistan and in new territories, including in the Kherson region and Mariupol," the press service of Black Star Burger said .

As TASS writes, in parallel with preparations for the opening of new establishments, the burger joint intends to update the menu and change the interior concept. The innovations will apply to the entire chain of restaurants. Among the new formats, as the press service of Black Star Burger claims, there will be catering and delivery.

Vedomosti notes that earlier it became known about the opening of full-scale Sberbank branches in the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR. The bank's press service claims that this is the final stage of preparation for Sberbank's entry into the occupied territories.

After the war in Ukraine began, Timati fell under Canadian sanctions. He was added to the sanctions list in July 2023. In August 2022, the musician bought out the Starbucks establishments, which announced its withdrawal from Russia in March of that year. The first coffee shop opened on Novy Arbat under the name Stars coffee.
