A powerful hurricane hits St. Petersburg

According to Fontanka, a 36-year-old woman died as a result of a tree falling in the Moskovsky District of St. Petersburg. The local administration press service reported this to the publication.

Wind gusts in some areas of the city reached 31 meters per second, not only felling trees, but also tearing roofs off houses. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 10 cars were damaged. For example, a tree fell on a car on the St. Petersburg Highway.

A squally wind knocked down a construction crane at one of the construction sites in St. Petersburg, the press service of the Nevsky District Administration told RIA Novosti.
