Belgorod is experiencing problems with electricity and water supply, local and federal publications report.
Thus, RIA Novosti, citing Belgorodenergo, reports that in the city itself, as well as in some areas of the Belgorod region, there are “temporary interruptions in the supply of electricity to consumers.” The company explained this as a “technological disruption caused by external impact on the energy facility.”
The agency's correspondent reported that traffic lights are not working in Belgorod, and there are also problems with the Internet. In turn, power engineers have reportedly begun "switching electricity supply to consumers to backup circuits."
At the same time, Mash claims that 90% of the Belgorod region was left without electricity. According to the Telegram channel, Belgorod, Stary Oskol and Volokonovka were completely without power. Mash reports that this happened "after a simultaneous attack by Ukrainian drones and the explosions of several IEDs at substations."
Due to the lack of electricity in some areas, the shelling warning system does not work, TASS reports . "We will now additionally install vehicles with loudspeakers. During the period of missile threat announcement, the vehicles will convey this information to residents," Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said at an operational government meeting.
As the local Telegram channel “Ash” writes , residents of Belgorod began receiving messages stating that the power supply would only be restored by 7 p.m. on July 1.
Also, as RBC writes , there are problems with water supply in Belgorod and some areas of the region. According to the publication, the local Vodokanal has started using generators to supply and drain water.
On the morning of July 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported repelling another attack by Ukrainian drones. Thus, the department reported 36 drones shot down, nine of which were hit in the skies over the Belgorod Region.
In turn, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his VK page that over the past 24 hours, the Belgorod region was attacked by 40 drones and also shelled ten times. As a result, according to him, a four-year-old girl was killed and seven more people were injured.
