The Ministry of Justice recognized the "unwanted" center of strategic research

The Ministry of Justice of Russia has introduced the American Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to the register of so -called undesirable organizations. His activities will be prohibited in Russia for participation in it may face criminal punishment.

CSIS is an analytical institution founded in 1962. It was created as a "brain center", uniting scientists from different specialties for considering pressing political challenges and developing optimal response strategies to them.

Since 1987, CSIS has become an independent non -profit organization. The Institute is engaged in the analysis of the global problem of modernity - including international terrorism, issues of cybersecurity, Russia's war in Ukraine - and creates recommendations for politicians.

• The list of so -called undesirable organizations has existed in Russia since 2015. The authorities introduced more than 160 NPOs, associations and media into it, including the Radio Liberty editorial office. For participation in the activities of unwanted organizations in Russia, criminal liability is provided in the form of fines or imprisonment.
