
The Belgorod Investigative Committee refused to institute criminal proceedings on the fact of death in the pre -trial detention center of the local volunteer Alexander Demidenko. This was reported by the publication "Light" with reference to the press service of the department.
During the audit, the investigators did not find data testifying to the commission of a crime against Demidenko, and “any illegal actions” by the FSIN employees to him.
Demidenko died in a pre -trial detention center on April 5, 2023. However, this became known only after three days - on the 8th. According to the official version of the FSIN, the volunteer committed suicide by opening the veins. He was allegedly found dead with a wound on the left forearm.
Since the beginning of a full -scale war against Ukraine, Demidenko helped Ukrainian refugees return home, brought them to the border and took them at home. In mid -October, when the volunteer helped the elderly Ukrainian cross the border, he was detained at the Kolotilovka checkpoint in the Belgorod region.
Three days later, the security forces brought him home and searched him. Then his wife Natalya Vishnevskaya noticed numerous traces of torture on her husband’s body. Later, the son of Demidenko said that the fighters of the Chechen "Akhmat" mocked his father.
At the end of October, it became known that the man was arrested for ten days. On November 1, he was sent in a pre -trial detention center in the case of illegal circulation of explosive devices. According to investigators, the volunteer kept weapons at home from the Second World War.
In December, 61-year-old Demidenko refused to let go from custody on bail.
Later, a criminal case against the state reception was also instituted against the volunteer. He learned about the new prosecution on April 4 - the day before his death.
According to the son of Demidenko, his father was to be transferred to Petersburg on April 15. He asked his son to send him pure linen and other things. Therefore, in the FSIN version of suicide, his loved ones doubt.
