Poland plans to strengthen the customs control of goods that arrive from Belarus

Poland plans to introduce enhanced customs control in the cargo terminal on the Polish-Belarusian border in Malashevich, where goods from Belarus arrive. It is reported by RMF24 with reference to anonymous sources in the country's Foreign Ministry.

According to sources, the decision to introduce such measures has already been made. In the terminal, it will conduct very detailed and thorough checks of goods imported into Poland in order to prevent dangerous objects and substances in the EU.

It is expected that this decision "will become very sensitive to Minsk." RMF24 notes that through the terminal in Malashevich passes the "lion's part" of supplies from the east, including the main land supplies from China to the EU.

Transit from China is a significant source of income for Minsk. Therefore, in the Polish Foreign Ministry hopes that Beijing will put pressure on Minsk so that the Belarusian authorities fulfill the requirements of Warsaw.

RMF FM also claims that a few days ago a signal was directed through the diplomatic channels of Belarus, that Poland would no longer endure migration pressure on the border. But there was no answer from Belarus yet.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslav Sikorski on the air of the Polish radio Zet again spoke about the possible closure of the border with Belarus. At the same time, he clarified that we are talking about the cessation of the passage of goods.
