Dagestan's mufti was introduced by a temporary ban on wearing Nikabov

The mufti of Dagestan announced that the ban on wearing Nikab - a traditional Muslim headdress for women, covering the whole face with the exception of a narrow slice for the eyes - will be introduced.

However, the ban is “temporary” and will act ”until the eliminated threats and the new theological conclusion,” according to the telegram channel of the muftiat.

On the evening of July 2, the Fatvat Department of the Muftiyat Dagestan announced that after the study of Sharia texts, he did not find sufficient grounds for the universal ban on Nikab.

On the morning of July 3, the Muftiyat of Dagestan said that "the media was not quite the right interpretation of the conclusion of the Fatwarm department." It was about publications that stated that the mufti decided not to ban Nickaba.

Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, said that in Russia it is necessary to “urgently” prohibit the wearing of Nikab. In his opinion, this supposedly will help reduce the threat of terrorist attacks committed by the Islamists.

He recalled the recent terrorist attacks in Dagestan and the capture of hostages in a pre-trial detention center in Rostov-on-Don.
