US presidential candidate Donald Trump, in case of his victory in the upcoming elections, intends to implement a plan to complete the war in Ukraine, which provides for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin about which part of the occupied Ukrainian territory can be preserved by Moscow. This was written by Politico with reference to two unnamed national security experts related to the Trump team.

The publication calls the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine part of the larger Trump plan regarding NATO. The rapid resolution of the conflict in Ukraine will probably play a key role in this regard, the newspaper writes.

In particular, NATO will take obligations not to expand east - in particular, to Ukraine and Georgia. At the same time, negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be held about what part of the occupied Ukrainian territory Moscow will be able to maintain.

The interlocutors of the publication claim that the United States under Trump is unlikely to completely leave NATO, but the plans of a possible future president imply a transition to the "two -level system" of the Alliance.
