The Prosecutor General's Office has declared the "Democratic Community of Russian-Speakers in Finland" "undesirable"

The "Democratic Community of Russian-Speakers in Finland" (Venajan Demokratian Puolesta) has been included in the register of "undesirable organizations" maintained by the Prosecutor General's Office, OVD-Info noted .

The "Democratic Community of Russian-Speakers in Finland" unites activists who organize actions in support of Russian political prisoners, participate in political projects and hold anti-war events. On June 30, activists held an evening of letters to political prisoners, timed to coincide with the date of arrest, as well as the birthday of politician Ilya Yashin.

The Prosecutor General's Office also added the Finnish "Vuoksi Ry" to the register. However, as Valery Klepkin from the radio station "Echo of Helsinki" clarified to "OVD-Info", it is likely that we are talking about one and the same organization: in Finnish, the full name of the "Democratic Community of Russian-Speakers in Finland" is written as Suomen venäjänkielisten demokraattinen yhteisö "Vuoksi" ry.

The organizations, as follows from the list on the agency's website, were added to the register of "undesirable" on June 20. The reasons for inclusion in the register are not indicated; the Prosecutor General's Office did not report this on its resources.
