The speed of downloading videos can decrease with the subscribers of all Russian operators, the Rostelecom report said .

The Google company has really stopped updating in 2022 and even disconnected a small part of its Russian equipment for global caching infrastructure. But the speed of loading content in YouTube for Russians, if it has decreased over these two years, is not essential.

The announcement of Rostelecom was heard against the backdrop of two years of conversations about the need to forcefully “slow down” the “unfriendly” YouTube in Russia, which the authorities did not dare to block.

With financial state support and at least five “YouTube clones” have been created at the means of loyal business in Russia, but they are not popular with the audience and do not contain a massive of content comparable to American video hosting.
