Novosibirsk State University (NSU) has decided not to renew the contract with Nikolai Rozov, a lecturer and PhD in Social Philosophy. His former colleague, philosopher Dmitry Vinnik, who supports the war in Ukraine, said that this is due to Rozov’s “Russophobic” comments on social media and his position on the war in Ukraine. He also shared details of personal discussions with Rozov on the topic of war.
The university's website still lists classes that Rozov is supposed to teach, but on the NSU research portal he is listed as a former employee.
" Nikolai Sergeevich has always been distinguished by his radical Westernism. […] The professor took the side of the hegemon because he is the hegemon and even admitted it, it's clear. But why the hell does he attribute a failure in international legitimacy to Russia? According to Rozov, Russia is not a legitimate state ?", Dmitry Vinnik wrote in his Telegram channel.
Vinnik also published Rozov's comments, in which he criticizes Russia's foreign policy and expresses an opinion different from the government's position on the war. In his post, he also recommended paying attention to another professor, Valery Surovtsev from Tomsk State University, who, according to Vinnik, " believed that Crimea should simply be taken and given to Ukraine ."
