Communist MP Mikhail Matveyev said he was hit on the head with a stick by “migrants who were bullying passersby”

State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mikhail Matveyev said that three passersby hit him on the head with a stick in Samara.

According to Matveyev, he was driving along 9th Prosek Street in the private sector on the northern outskirts of Samara and saw “three migrants” who were “harassing passersby.”

The deputy filmed himself getting out of the car towards these men with sticks in his hands, shouting at them "Stop", and one of them hits the deputy on the head. After that, all the participants in the conflict run away.

In the next video, Matveyev says that he "tried to break up a fight between migrants and our local guys." The deputy claims that three migrants "were picking on passersby," he saw this, after which he and his driver got out of the car to "stop them," and immediately "got hit in the head."

“In the best Russian traditions, we’ve been waiting here for 40 minutes for the police and an ambulance – there’s no one here,” Matveyev added on camera, sitting with his head bandaged.

Later, the Investigative Committee reported on the initiation of a criminal case on hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). "The participants in the incident have been identified and detained," the report says. The deputy himself reported the detention of three people and specified that he was hit with a stone.

Mikhail Matveyev ran for the State Duma from the Samara region in 2021. He was one of the candidates of "Smart Voting" - a strategy put forward by Alexei Navalny's team to reduce the results of United Russia.

In 2024, Matveyev recorded a video apologizing to Ramzan Kadyrov and Muslims living in Russia. Before that, on the YouTube channel of blogger Pavel Ivanov, he called migrants "wild savages" who "aggressively impose" their values ​​on the residents of Russia. The Russian government, the deputy said, "is bending to the Islamic factor." In the same interview, he said that "everyone is drawing" in the elections in Russia.
