The State Duma Committee on Security and Combating Corruption approved a series of amendments to various laws that expand the powers of the FSB. TASS writes about this with reference to the texts of documents.
So, it is assumed that the FSB will receive access to the registry office database. The special services will have information on the state registration of birth, death, conclusion and divorce, change of name or establishing paternity, as well as amendments in the record of such facts.
In addition, the State Duma committee approved amendments that will ban any individuals and legal entities that have gained access to information, the disclosure of which can create conditions “impede the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the FSB of Russia” to disseminate this information.
It is also proposed to allow the FSB to process the personal data of their personnel, including biometrics, without obtaining consent from the employees themselves.
The amendments should still be approved by the full composition of the State Duma.
