The 1st Western District Military Court sentenced a married couple from Gatchina, Aleksandr Dotsenko and Anastasia Dyudyaeva, to imprisonment in a penal colony in the case of pro-Ukrainian leaflets. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the defendants' support group.
Jeweler Alexander Dotsenko was sentenced to three years in a penal colony, artist Anastasia Dyudyaeva to three years and six months in a penal colony. Both were found guilty under the article on calls for terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).
Earlier, the prosecutor demanded that both spouses be sentenced to four years in a general regime penal colony. According to the investigation, they placed pro-Ukrainian leaflets in the Lenta grocery store.
The couple were detained and interrogated at the FSB Directorate on January 24. After a night in the temporary detention center, they were sent to a pretrial detention center, and their arrest was extended several times. On January 31, they were charged with:
"In order to incite customers... to attempt on the life of a government official, Dotsenko A.G. intentionally placed on the products of this hypermarket, namely on the packaging of crab sticks, the packaging of candy, as well as a mat for drying dishes, postcards with text beginning with the words "Our Father..." and ending with the words "... We are New Rock", containing public calls to carry out terrorist activity by inciting an indefinite number of people to attempt on the life of the President of the Russian Federation in order to stop his government activities," the indictment stated .
At one of the court hearings, a shopper said that she found a postcard inside a box of imported chocolates she had bought. According to her, the box was sealed, and it would have been impossible to put the postcard inside without damaging it right there in the sales area.
