The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Pskov journalist Svetlana Prokopyeva on the wanted list. Mediazona drew attention to this information.
It is unknown in what case Prokopyeva is being sought. “There is no need to commit any crimes here - I’m on our monster-RF’s hit list. They are lazy, why look for new victims when there are well-developed old ones. Lazy, vile cannibals, what else can you say. Well, let them earn their ticks, to hell with them,” the journalist herself commented on the appearance of her name in the search database.
In the summer of 2023, Prokopyeva was added to the register of “foreign agents.” In September, she was fined in absentia under the article on discrediting the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of an interview published in Sever.Realii with historian and political philosopher Vasily Zharikov.
- In July 2020, Prokopyeva was found guilty under the article on justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and fined 500 thousand rubles. The case was opened because of the radio broadcast of “Echo of Moscow in Pskov,” during which the journalist discussed the possible motives of Mikhail Zhlobitsky, an anarchist who blew himself up in the reception room of the Arkhangelsk FSB Directorate at the end of October 2018. On air, she said that Zhlobitsky could have been driven to such actions by the repressive policies of the state.
