State Duma deputy threatens reprisal against Agency journalist and other independent journalists

State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulev hinted in an interview with the Chita publication Vechorka that Agency journalist Andrei Zatirko should be treated like the former Russian military man killed in Spain. Two years ago, Gurulev called all journalists who go abroad and condemn the war traitors and "part of the fifth column." In 2023, Gurulev supported the call of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin to confiscate the property of citizens of the country who, from abroad, "are engaged in discrediting our Armed Forces or Russia in general."
