Warsaw authorities call emergency meeting over Taylor Swift concert

This year, Poles celebrate a round date - 80 years since the beginning of the uprising. On the same day, Taylor Swift will give her first concert in Warsaw. A total of three concerts are planned: August 1, 2 and 3.

Super Express claims that Polish nationalists are also coming to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. Usually, many mass events are planned in Warsaw on this day, including a memorial march. The "W Hour" event occupies a special place. At 5 p.m., sirens will sound throughout the city and traffic will be stopped for several minutes to pay tribute to the insurgents.

"W Hour" falls at the time when Taylor Swift fans will be arriving at the concert venue - the National Stadium. The singer is expected to take the stage at around 19:30 Warsaw time. Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski has called a meeting with the crisis group to sort out the city's transport situation. Super Express points out that on August 1st, trams will not be running, which will make it very difficult for guests of the Polish capital to stay. Tens of thousands of fans from all over the world will come to see the concert, including Americans who were unable to buy tickets to the US. The authorities' task is to avoid a clash between Poles and swifties.
